A short, plain explanation of what we collect when you use this site, and your rights over it.
What we collect
- Your name and email address, only when you submit a form (RSVP for an event, contact us, apply to the club, or ask to be emailed about new events, stock or the podcast)
- Any message, answers to RSVP questions (how you will attend, for how long), or other text you type into that form — and, for club applications, that you accepted the Code of Conduct
That's it — this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. The members' platform sets only the login cookies it needs to keep you signed in.
Why we collect it
Solely to respond to what you asked for: confirm your RSVP, reply to your message, or process a club application. We don't use it for anything else, and we don't sell it or share it beyond the services listed below.
Who processes it
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. To run the site, it passes through a few services, each only for its own job:
- Our own platform (projects.prepping.club, on our server in the EU) — every form submission is stored there as a ticket, so a person can answer it; members' accounts live there too
- Cloudflare — hosts this website, receives the forms, and protects the members' platform (the one-time login code is sent by Cloudflare)
- Migadu (Switzerland) — our email provider: replies, notifications and event emails go through it
- OpenStreetMap — the map on the events page loads map images from openstreetmap.org, which receives your IP address like any website you visit; no account, no cookies
How long we keep it
Only as long as needed to handle your request and any reasonable follow-up — for example, event submissions are kept until after the event plus a short follow-up window.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data
- Restrict or object to how it's used
- Give you a copy in a portable format
Contact us to exercise any of these — we handle requests directly, no automated process.
